Facts to use to create our story about our stadium

Some more facts to help us create our story about the stadium:

- St Albans railway station established 1880s
- Aboriginal people lived in Melbourne's West at least for the last 38,000 years
- 1900 - an ammunition factory opened in Deer Park
- in mid 1920s, a number of new factories for industries started in Sunshine
- In 1922, the John Darling flour mill built next to Albion station
- In 1911, a 13 week strike by workers disrupted activity...there was a shortage of skilled labour
- Throughout WWII, women worked to produce munitions, explosives and weaponry in the West
- Melbourne Cup horses were trained in St Albans during the 1950s
- 1850s gold rush traffic passed Sunshine to get to Ballarat
